Beech wood near Derwent Water in the Peak District. Unusually there was not too much clutter in the wood, leaving a clean carpet of leaves in the forest floor without the usual branches, twigs and bushes. I enjoyed a quiet hour or so working on this image, experimenting with perspective and shape - whilst being eaten by midges.
